Training Information
The DOE Consolidated Audit Program (DOECAP) Treatment, Storage, and Disposal Facility (TSDF) Audit Program offers a valuable service to the Department by ensuring confidence and accountability in waste treatment and disposal at DOE contracted commercial waste facilities. DOECAP plays a crucial role in overseeing how radioactive and hazardous waste TSDFs manage DOE generated waste streams to safeguard the environment, the public, workers, and the Department itself. These consolidated audits streamline the auditing process, replacing individual audits required by DOE field elements at each site. The program relies on trained volunteer subject matter experts (SMEs) from various sites within the DOE complex and its contractors. These SMEs undergo training by DOECAP to maintain consistency in audit methodology, processes, and procedures. We strongly encourage all report recipient sites to participate in staffing this program with volunteer SMEs trained as DOECAP TSDF Auditors.
The comprehensive three-day in-person training and final exam will cover presentations and hands-on exercises focusing on the following key areas:
- Industrial and Chemical Safety
- Quality Assurance
- Sampling and Analytical Data Quality
- Waste Operations
- Transportation Management
- Radiation Protection
- Environmental Compliance and Permitting
